I help fintech builders create innovative products. I’m a 2x fintech GC with 20+ years of hands-on experience advising lenders of all sizes, from early-stage startups to leading financial institutions and industry trade groups to leading institutions of higher education throughout the entire life cycle of designing, launching, and operating consumer and small-business financial products. My experience includes:

  • Board Member and Legislative Chair, Council of Higher Education Assistance Organizations, a partnership of colleges, universities and other organizations dedicated to promoting student-friendly, efficiently operated campus-based loan and tuition payment programs.
  • Outside counsel to a consortium of leading student loan providers in assisting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the preparation of its Private Student Loan report to Congress. Acted as external in-house product counsel to small-business lender designing and implementing a small-business credit card program.
  • Lead in-house regulatory counsel to a top-20 bank for multiple lines of business, including auto lending, student lending, personal lending, point-of-sale financing, fair lending, privacy, furnishing of credit information (Metro 2), loan servicing, debt collection, complaint and dispute resolution, texting and telemarketing initiatives, and more.
